C’mon! Yet another “fad” diet and person calling out foods we shouldn’t eat?
Are you frustrated with all the hype and confusion surrounding what foods to eat and what foods to stay away from? I completely understand. Not too long ago, Dr. Barry Sears coined the Zone Diet (aka: The 40/30/30), then there was the Atkin’s Diet. Later, Crossfitters favorite, Paleo diet. And, more recently, the Ketogenic Diet.
How do we keep it straight and which diet is the right one?
As a healthcare professional, staying on top of all this is a continual struggle. Deciding which advice to disseminate to my patients requires quite a bit of research and dedication on my part. Until now, I’ve never fully committed to sharing any of the popularized recommendations, but perhaps pieces of them. The reason for this, because I personally found flaws in all/parts of the recommendations. None were worthy of my blessing. . . until now.
As usual, I don’t recommend anything to my patients, unless I’ve had personal experience with it. The program I’m strongly suggesting you consider following (as reasonably closely as you can), is not only a program I personally try to adhere to, but, the only one I have found to have the most merit. Since adopting this program, I’ve noticed increased energy, less brain fog, less carb-cravings and generally feel better (to name a few). Most importantly, the rational behind it, follows a common theme that I’ve encountered across years of research and learning about what to eat/what not to eat.
The program I’m referring to (and have zero financial interest in) is Dr. Steven Gundry MD, award winning cardiac surgeon’s program he coined, “The Plant Paradox”. In his book, he reveals the #1 danger in the American diet: a toxic protein hidden in plants called lectins. Lectins are found in hundreds of common foods, like wheat, beans, potatoes, nuts, and dairy.
“The Plant Paradox” offers a full list of high-lectin foods, simple substitutions, a step-by-step detox plan, and delicious lectin free recipes. This Program, outlined in the book and backed by scientific research, has helped thousands of Dr. Gundry’s patients to lose weight and recover from long-standing health disorders.
As always, as your health provider, I feel my duty is to make you aware of health advice worth listening to and following. Since what we eat is quite possibly your best offense and defense against chronic disease (and completely within your control), I felt compelled to share this with you.
